Google’s search AI giving factually inaccurate results

CNN) – Only a few days after releasing its new artificial intelligence search tool, Google is reversing some factually erroneous search results.

In order to save consumers the trouble of clicking through numerous links to quickly find the answers to their inquiries, the application summarizes search results.

However, this week the feature came under scrutiny because it answered certain questions with inaccurate or misleading information.

For instance, a number of users shared on social media that, contrary to popular belief, Google’s AI summary claimed that the previous president Obama is a practicing Muslim.
One more user pointed out that a summary misrepresented the number of recognized African countries—54—that did not begin with the letter “K.”

According to Google, the AI summaries for both requests have been deleted since they were against corporate policy.

According to a representative, the great majority of AI summaries include excellent information along with links to relevant online resources.
