Africa’s top insights and data access company, Dataphyte, will present its AI-powered products at DataFestAfrica, a conference that will be held in Lagos, Nigeria, from October 17 to 19. As one of Africa’s leading communities of data practitioners and enthusiasts, the conference’s organisers focused on “AI-Enabled Transformation: Shaping the Future Together” with influential figures in the data industry. Dataphyte’s business development lead, Ibilolia Daniel, and tech development lead, Kunle Adelowo, will discuss the company’s strategy for democratising Africa’s data ecosystem.

The research, analysis, and technology tools provided by Dataphyte enable researchers, journalists, NGOs, civil society organisations, and citizens to gain deeper understanding. In addition to exploring data-driven advancements, socioeconomic transformation, and digital breakthroughs around the continent, conference attendees will engage in interactive workshops. In just five years, Dataphyte has used data to create a number of AI products, including Goloka, a digital platform that collects, labels, and aggregates disparate and scattered datasets to assist businesses, government agencies, and civil society organisations in making well-informed decisions, and Nubia, an open-source AI tool that gives journalists data-driven stories.

“Our AI tools bridge the gap, democratising data analysis and visualisation capabilities,” said Femi Amele, the director of Dataphyte’s program. Regardless of technical proficiency, users can create meaningful reports utilising publicly available data. According to Mr. Amele, the cooperation of a network of data contributors who work at the local level in hyperlocal communities and provide primary data gathering services improves the adoption of the Goloka platform. “With the help of geospatial technology, we are committed to improving data validation and precision while constructing the development and media ecosystem,” he stated.

“We’ve developed technology for seamless data collection, insights generation, and analysis,” Ibilolia Daniel said. We will showcase AI technologies developed as a solution for both the global market and African growth at DataFestAfrica. Participants will see firsthand examples of our offerings and learn how our AI tools, such as Goloka and Nubia, revolutionise data gathering and reporting.
