The Patoranking Foundation has launched a $500,000 in tech scholarship.

The Patoranking Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing empowerment, business, and education throughout Africa, has taken a ground-breaking step to increase Africa’s technological prowess. The $500,000 Patoranking charity Tech Scholarship are being offered by the charity in collaboration with renowned tech training provider ALX Africa. By providing 40 young Africans with the chance to acquire in-demand digital skills in cloud computing, Salesforce administration, and data analytics, this program will help to establish a new generation of tech leaders on the continent.

The Patoranking Foundation was established by African artist Patrick Okorie, better known by his stage name Patoranking. It uses partnerships, research, and advocacy to give exceptional young leaders in Africa access to transformative educational programs and market-ready entrepreneurship skills. After spending more than $1 million on youth education around the continent in the previous six years, the Foundation is starting a new chapter in its mission with the launch of a $500,000 tech scholarship in collaboration with ALX Africa.

Beginning on May 30th, 2024, 40 outstanding applicants will get the opportunity to take part in top-notch tech training programs, gaining the highly sought-after tech skills that top international businesses want. The ideal candidate will already be actively involved in their community and will be able to bridge the knowledge gap between theory and practice by being eligible for internships at top international tech businesses.

Applicants from all around Africa who show promise and are tech-savvy are eligible for the tech scholarship. Beneficiaries will be chosen following an examination of each applicant’s video and essay submitted through the Foundation website; applicants must successfully complete the ALX admissions procedure. The Patoranking Foundation’s founder, Patrick Okorie, showed his enthusiasm for the collaboration by saying,

“At Patoranking Foundation, we are dedicated to advancing Africa through education and entrepreneurship. ALX Africa shares our commitment to empowering tomorrow’s leaders via access to advanced digital skills that are critical to future employability and entrepreneurship, and we are delighted to partner with them.”

Under its Sky Level Initiative, the Patoranking Foundation has partnered with top universities to give bright future leaders access to these institutions. Ten scholars from eight African nations were given full scholarships by the Foundation in 2020 to attend the African Leadership University (ALU) in Rwanda or Mauritius. Currently, 170 young students from the founder’s native state of Ebonyi, Nigeria, are enrolled on scholarships in five prestigious institutions.

Remarking on the collaboration, renowned educator and businessman Fred Swaniker, the founder of ALX Africa, said, “In today’s world of AI and Big Data, young people need to be prepared for uncertainty; they need to be agile and adaptable. Through our collaboration with Patoranking Foundation, we hope to empower tomorrow’s tech disruptors and innovative community leaders with the most in-demand hard and soft skills to solve the problems of the continent and beyond.”

In order to foster Africa’s business spirit and prepare the continent and its nations for revolutionary change, Patoranking keeps using his influence. The Patoranking Foundation is empowering Africa’s youth leaders with critical digital skills to scale local impact and helpful connections for collaboration by choosing resilient and creative community changemakers for the tech scholarships.
