Ish Designs will attend the Addis Ababa fashion reception on behalf of Namibia.

Ish Designs has been chosen to represent Namibia at this year’s Africa Fashion Reception (AFR). Ish Designs provides glitzy ready-to-wear clothing to local fashion fans. From November 6 to 9, the gathering will take place at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

As stated by AFR President Lexy Mojo-Eyes, Legendary Gold Limited organised the pan-African project in collaboration with the African Union, the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the embassies of Nigeria, Burundi, and Côte d’Ivoire in Ethiopia.

“Africa is the new inspiration for global fashion,” declares Mojo-Eyes, “and as always, the AFR will bring together fashion designers, exhibitors, buyers, wholesalers, retailers, models, ambassadors, ministers, and media from all over Africa in a celebration of cultural diversity expressed through the artistic fashion discipline.”

The executive board nominated Julia Kandjimbi, creative director of Ish Designs, to participate as a panellist, speaker, and designer in this year’s Africa fashion business summit, women forum, and Africa youth forum. Kandjimbi called it an honour.

According to Kandjimbi, “the board’s confidence in my work and vision is reflected in this opportunity.”

She has moreover conveyed her enthusiasm and appreciation for the chance.

“Ish Designs, the design project I’ve been working on separately, has reached a major milestone with its selection for this esteemed event. Our visibility will rise as a result of this exposure, and exciting new opportunities will arise According to Kandjimbi, the specifics of the collection she will showcase during the occasion are still being finalised.

She continues, “I am keeping the details under wraps to build anticipation and make sure the final presentation is both impactful and surprising. But according to Kandjimbi, there will be ten items in the collection.

“Although the specific theme is still being worked out, I am researching ideas that will highlight a distinctive narrative and be in line with the summit’s overall vision.” Aspiring designers should take advantage of every chance with zeal and determination, according to Kandjimbi.

“Remember that every obstacle presents an opportunity for development and recognition. Stay true to your vision and keep stretching the boundaries of your creativity.”
