-During its fourth test mission, SpaceX’s massive Starship rocket launched from south Texas on Thursday survived reentry through Earth’s atmosphere and splashed down in the Indian Ocean as intended.
Aiming to survive a scorching hot re-entry through Earth’s atmosphere, the two-stage spacecraft, which included the Starship cruise vessel atop its massive Super Heavy rocket booster, broke apart on its final attempt in March.
Starship launched on Thursday morning from the business’s Starbase launch location close to Boca Chica Village on Texas’ Gulf Coast. This is the most recent trial mission in Elon Musk’s company’s test-to-failure rocket development campaign.
